Welcome to the Chicago Rat Pack! We are a small rattery located in Chicago, IL. As a hobby breeder of fancy rats, we are primarily looking to improve the health, type, and temperament of the species. We are also committed to providing healthy and well-socialized pet rats for good homes. If you would like to learn more about the two of us and our rattery, please click to 'about us' link to the left.
Rats make excellent pets - they're more intelligent and have more personality than most of the other small animal pets, and they're large enough to sit on your lap during a movie, or ride around on your shoulder while you're doing the dishes (of course, as college kids, we have little first-hand experience with the latter...). They are clean and affectionate, and can sometimes even get along well with larger family pets (like children, for example). If you are considering getting a rat, please email us if you want to learn more.
Also, if you are a new rat owner and have any questions, feel free to talk to us - we have years of rat experience, and are always happy to provide information and advice (whether or not you are considering adopting from CRP).

Clairee's first litter was just born! On March 20th she gave birth to four beautiful pups, two girls and two boys. They are all currently reserved, but click on the litter name to see pictures of her and her pups!
New Boys!
Well, I finally got around to putting up pictures of the new boys, Butch and Sundance! They're already living up to their names, and causing all kinds of trouble. Check the bucks page for more pictures, etc.
New Girl!
Suzy, our new baby girl from Pixie's World Rattery, finally has her own page! Click on her picture to see more shots of her goofing around with some babies from our last litter.
We have babies! - 101 Dalmatians Litter
On December 12, CRP Joker gave birth to 18 squeaking pink babies! She has been an awesome mother so far, and we will post pictures as soon as possible. In the meantime, though, there is still room on our waiting list for this litter, so please email us if you are interested in adopting. More information about this litter can be found on the available pups page, or by clicking
